They gut our healthcare to fund tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. They spend billions bombing children overseas while American kids go hungry. Enough is enough. We need a different kind of leadership.
William Lawrence is running as a Democrat to unseat Tom Barrett and represent Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. He was raised in Lansing and graduated from East Lansing High School.

It’s time that DC started working for Mid-Michigan families, not billionaires in New York and California. Will is fighting for our government to say YES to funding universal healthy, social security and quality housing; and NO to billionaire tax breaks and endless war. He will have four major priorities in DC:
1. Lower the cost of living. Everything is getting too expensive and Mid-Michigan families like us are feeling the crunch. We need to:
- Protect social security by taxing the wealthy
- Build affordable housing & end corporate landlord price-gouging
- Guarantee healthcare for all
- Stabilize prices & markets
2. Protect Pure Michigan. Michigan’s water and farmland and our health are under attack from multi-national corporations, and too many politicians are afraid to stand up for Michiganders. Will isn’t one of them. He will fight to:
- Pass a 12-month federal moratorium on new data centers
- Protect Michigan’s water by restoring wetlands & rivers
- Preserve game & wildlife areas
- Hold polluters accountable
3. Say No to endless war. Politicians in both parties have said there’s money for war, but not anything for Social Security, childcare, or education. That’s a lie. We need to get our priorities straight: stop bombing kids overseas, start delivering for American families. We need to:
- End the illegal & expensive war on Iran
- Stop arms sales to Israel & other human rights violators
- Seek diplomatic solutions to global challenges, not more war
4. Restore the rule of law. DC politicians are letting billionaires, bullies, and corrupt politicians get away with violating our constitutional rights and engaging in criminal behavior. Lawrence will fight to:
- Prosecute the Epstein class for human trafficking & tax evasion
- Hold ICE accountable for unconstitutional conduct
- Ban stock trading by members of Congress & the executive branch
